Student Learning Outcomes Assessment

Welcome to the SRJC Student Learning Outcomes site!

SRJC is dedicated to delivering a top-tier educational experience for every student. We prioritize assessing our institutional effectiveness and fostering continuous improvement through a comprehensive four-year cycle of Student Learning Outcomes (SLO) assessment.

Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) at SRJC encompass data collected from our courses (CLOs) using eLumen Insights for Canvas, our software support system. Within eLumen Insights for Canvas, this data informs various outcomes, including Program Learning Outcomes (PLO), General Education Learning Outcomes (GELO), Certificate and Major Learning Outcomes, Support Services (SSLOs), and Institutional Learning Outcomes. We are committed to making all of our SLOs publicly accessible, and you can find more details on the SLO TYPES page.

Our utilization of eLumen Insights for Canvas stemmed from the necessity to disaggregate Student Learning Outcomes (SLO) data, aiming to promote student equity and attain a comprehensive grasp of the quality of student learning throughout the campus.

In the spring of 2023, SRJC initiated an improved SLO assessment approach designed to enhance the understanding of data, particularly regarding the diverse student populations and their learning experiences within courses and programs. This enhanced data will enable us to assess student performance in both face-to-face and online learning environments, while also examining learning outcomes across various demographic parameters like gender, age, ethnicity, and more.
